Bridal Beauty Tips - How to Look And Feel Your Best When It Counts Most

Wednesday, October 31st, 2007

By L Hayes Your wedding day is the one time in your life when you want to look amazing. At your upcoming wedding, you will be the center of attention, with all eyes on you as you make your way down the aisle toward your future husband. Obviously, you want to look your absolute best. Prior to your wedding, you need to find time to relax, while doing something special for you. Here are a few tips that will help you look like a fairytale princess on your wedding day. Facial Care If you have ever given thought to treating yourself to a facial, now would be the ideal opportunity. In fact, if you want to spend some quality time with your maid of honor, the two of you could enjoy a trip to the day spa together, a perfect way for thanking her for all her hard work and support. In addition to looking great, a facial will help you relax. Today, just about every city has a day spa where you can be pampered, even smaller towns. An excellent option is a steam facial, which benefits you by releasing toxins and trapped dirt within the skins pores. Now, one important thing to consider is that a steam facial should be done between three and six weeks before the actual wedding day. The reason is that as the skin is cleaned, a breakout is possible. Foot Care In addition to walking down the aisle, chances are you will be standing for long periods of time while going through the wedding ceremony. Considering that you will be wearing new shoes, standing in front of your guests while exchanging wedding vows, and then waiting to greet each guest as he or she walks through the receiving line, you want your feet to be comfortable. Then of course, remember the dancing and walking you will be doing at the reception as well. To pamper your feet, we recommend you start by getting a good pedicure several days before the wedding. By doing this, your toenails will look fabulous, which is especially a good idea if you plan to wear open toe shoes. In addition, you might want to consider visiting a reflexologist, which is a trained professional that uses a special form of Chinese wellness. With reflexology, pressure is applied to various points on the feet, which then benefits different parts of the body. Body Massage You definitely want to make time for several massages. A full body massage is a great way to prepare for your wedding. Most importantly, you want to work with a qualified masseuse to help relieve stress, while making you feel like a brand new person. A massage the day before your wedding will relax both the body and mind, something you could do alone or with your maid of honor. As a result, you will arrive at your wedding feeling refreshed and ready to face anything ahead of you. In fact, most brides agree that after a body massage, they feel confident and more in charge simply from being stress free. In summary, it’s important to make time for yourself before your wedding. By following these simple bridal beauty tips, you will look and feel your best on the most important day of your life, your wedding day! Naruto Learns The Ninja Ways

Monday, October 29th, 2007

By Amyobus Key Sasuke’s weapons pierced what appeared to be their teacher, but thetransformation reverted to its original, and the weapons projectedharmlessly from a log. Kakashi had determined Sasuke’s location, droppinghis guard on purpose to create a trap. Sakura rushed from hiding, worriedabout Sasuke, only to be confronted by an image of the boy she lovespleading for help. Sakura screamed and fainted. From nearby, a casualteacher, muttered: “Maybe I overdid it. But she should have noticed if itwas real or not. That was Ninja tactic number two.” The real Sasuke confronts his teacher, attacks with arms and feet and isable to surprise him by getting close enough to touch one of thebells which would have earned him a victory if only he had grasped it.Kakashi says in surprise, “I’ll admit that you’re different from those two.” But Sasuke is already resuming his attack. He creates a seal for horseand tiger, to which his teacher stares in amazement: “What? Thattechnique is not something a Genin can do. He shouldn’t haveenough Chakra.” Sasuke sends a stream of fire from his breath, enveloping his teacher, but when the smoke clears, Kakashi is gone. He isnot behind nor anywhere above. A voice yells, “Beneath you!” An arm comes from the earth and dragsSasuke under, leaving him with only his head sticking out. Kakashi kneelsbefore him. “This is the third Ninja tactic know-how.” Then he adds,”Looks like your talents are exceptional, but they say that stakes thatpoint out get driven back into the ground.” A short time later, Sakura appears and sees Sasuke’s head on the ground. Her eyes pop open when Sasuke calls her name, and she freaks out, thinkingit is a severed head calling to her. After she awakes from the faint, she finds Sasuke kneeling beside her. She is happy that he is all right, and suggests that they try harder next time but give up for now. Sasukeglares at her. He is not a quitter. He mutters a confused storyabout a mysterious man that he must kill. As he speaks, the clock alarmrings twelve noon. They have run out of time. The test is over. Back at the starting point where Naruto is tied to a post, Kakashi informshis stunned students that they need not return to the academy. Theyare so bad, they should quit being ninjas. He asks them a very importantquestion which they cannot answer: “Why do you think we’re training bybreaking into groups?” He reveals the answer. “It is for teamwork. If allthree had come together, maybe one would have acquired a bell.Sakura asks, “Why do we need to use teamwork, where there are only twobells?” It is because the test tries to put the three against each other. It isto find students who put teamwork before their own personal interests. Butthey were pathetic. Sakura cared more about Sasuke than Naruto. AllNaruto did was work on his own. And Sasuke believed the other two werejust going to burden him. But missions are done in groups. “If youbecome captured. Someone will die. In every mission, you put your lifeon the line.” Kakashi-sensei says he will give them all one more chance later afterlunch. They are to eat lunch only if they are up to the challenge. Butthey must not permit Naruto to eat, and he is to remain tied up. It ishis punishment for breaking the rules and trying to eat lunch early.Anyone who feeds him will fail. Kakashi steps away, and Sasuke andSakura begin to eat their lunches. Naruto, unable to move, is famished, and his stomach is growling loudly. But Sasuke notes that Kakashi is notnearby, and he says that if they are going to get the bells together, itis only going to be trouble if Naruto is hungry. He offers food tohis starving teammate. Sakura agrees and she also offers her lunch toNaruto. Because his hands are tied, she must feed him. Naruto takes the first bite, and there is a loud clap of thunder andsmoke. Kakashi has returned and is very angry! “You three broke therule! Are you prepared for the punishment? Are there any last words?”Sakura is about to faint again, Naruto is quaking in fear, and Sasukeis silent and filled with dread. Sasuke and Sakura jump to be besideNaruto, announcing that they are in this together. They are a three-manteam. They are one. “You there are one, eh?” says their teacher. His dark look washes away. Then he nods, “You pass! You three are the first. The students I hadpreviously were blockheads who just listened to what I said. Ninjas needto think beyond the normal. In the world of ninjas, those who break therules are called scum. But those who don’t care about their friends areeven worse scum.” Naruto appears to want to cry, and says, “He’s kind of cool.” The training has ended. Everyone passes for the first time ever. The 7thgroup will begin their missions the next day. From this episode we learn that the fundamentals of being a ninja donot merely involve a great number of tactical knows-hows and magicalskills. Instead, there are significant principles that are required forthe success of any group. For the first time, these bickering, selfishchildren, have worked in unison, and appear capable of engaging in futuremissions that will test their responsibility and loyalty to eachother. It is not about who loves whom, and who hates whom, but ofco-ordinating and being there for the assistance and support of oneanother. The group must be a family in the true sense. The adventures of Naruto are a training ground, not only for thecharacters, but for the enraptured fans, and this episode is at the heartof why the Naruto stories stand out head and shoulders above all otherAnime adventures. How To Count Hosta Eyes

Sunday, October 28th, 2007

By Jerry Van Der Kolk In the spring, when things are just beginning to warm up and the soil is still cool and moist, hosta lovers go out to count eyes. Gently uncover your hosta beds to reveal the green nubs poking through the soil. Each nub is called an eye, and it is the beginning of a complete set of hosta leaves. There are two reasons to count hosta eyes. The first and most important is simply so you can take joy in how much your hostas have grown, and so that you can anticipate how beautiful they will be in a couple of months. The more eyes a hosta has, the larger in diameter the clump will be. The second reason to count hosta eyes is to decide if it is time to divide some of them. When you go out to count hosta eyes, it’s also a good time to do a little hosta maintenance. If you are considering moving your hosta, this is the best time to do it. When choosing a new location, remember that hostas are shade and water-loving plants. Before you move the plant, dig a hole in the new location and mix in some good compost. Make sure the soil is moist. Then, dig up the entire hosta bunch and replant it. Make sure that the roots do not dry out in the process, and be careful not to bury the crown, and you are good to go. This is also a good time to split hostas. You do not have to split them and they will not get overcrowded like some plants. Hostas just get bigger and bigger. But splitting is a good way to expand your hosta bed, or to share with friends. It really depends on the variety and personal preference when deciding to split hostas. I recommend waiting at least 4 or 5 years so you can experience some of the beauty each unique plant. Before you split a hosta, prepare the new plant location as above. Then dig up the plant. With a very sharp knife that has been dipped in an anti-fungal powder or bleach mixture, cut the crown into smaller pieces. Each eye will produce a plant, but the new plant will take longer to get established with fewer eyes. Two to six eyes is better, and larger pieces are fine. Dust the cut pieces with antifungal or rinse in a bleach solution, and replant. Make sure the roots do not dry out in the process. When you move or split hostas, it can take them a year or so to completely reestablish themselves. Other early spring hosta maintenance includes cleaning the bed and fertilizing. Remove old leaves, mulch and debris. Add a mild dressing of compost or fertilizer to the soil, and you are done. In fact, you are pretty well done for several months. Hostas are very easy to care for. They only thing they really want is a cool, shady area with lots of water. If, however, you live in a cold-weather region, you might recover your hosta eyes with fresh mulch to protect them from late frost. Mulching helps retain water in the warmer months, anyway. That first nice day in spring, when things are still mucky in the garden, go out and count hosta eyes and do a little basic maintenance. In just a couple of months your hostas will be completely open and you will be enjoying their beauty. Jerry Van Der Kolk has been involved directly with the Horticulture Industry for over 20 years. How Information Overload Can Slow Down Your Weight Loss

Saturday, October 27th, 2007

By Suzanne Hiscock A little information can go a long way, but does that mean that the more information the better? Not necessarily. When it comes to losing weight and getting fit, too much information can slow your weight loss down to a crawl by paralysing you with choices: Should you go low carb? Low fat? Low calorie? Should you work out in the morning? In the evening? What should you eat before a work out? What should you eat after a workout? The choices and advice are endless — it’s amazing we get anything done at all! Top 4 Warning Signs of IOS (Information Overload Syndrome) Okay, so you won’t find IOS in any medical book (because I just made it up!), but check out the following symptoms to see if you’re suffering from IOS. 1) Changing eating habits or exercise programs on a whim because of something you’ve read in a forum, in a news story or heard about some other way. 2) Too much reading and not enough “doing,” to the point where you find yourself hesitating to start anything at all for fear of doing something wrong. 3) Not getting much else in your life done because you’re too busy trying to figure out when to eat, what to eat, how much to eat and how to burn it all off. 4) If you’ve ever said something like, “First, they say ‘fill in the blank’ is bad for me; now they say it’s good for me. I wish they’d make up their minds!” Extra points if you’ve also shouted out, “Enough already!” Getting Out of the IOS Rut If you have one or more of the above symptoms, you might be suffering from IOS. Don’t despair! There are things you can do to clear your mind and get back on track to healthy weight loss. Look through your past for things that worked well for you. Make one small change and stick with it for 3 weeks. Realize that you don’t have to sacrifice other things in your life to lose weight. Sit down, take a deep breath and get back to the basics of nutrition and exercise.Get out into nature, away from the buzz of the computer, the telephone — anything man-made.So, if you find yourself suffering from IOS, take a step back from weight loss, get back to basics and refocus on your life. Craft Table And Storage Options For Crafters

Friday, October 26th, 2007

By M. Xavier Anyone who is serious about crafting knows all the supplies that accumulate take up a lot of space. We tend to throw it all together in boxes, containers, or closets to get it out of the way when we arent using it. Then when we’re at our craft table, in need of a certain something, it is no where to be found! Here are some helpful ways to keep the clutter down and find the craft table that is right for you. Some are lucky enough to have a craft room with a permanent craft table in it. For those of us that aren’t so lucky, the kitchen table usually does the trick. It is not wise to use the kitchen table, however, because of the risk of damage. When you are using glues, paints, or sharp objects like knives or scissors, your kitchen table can pay the price. As an alternative, consider using a folding table. You can find sturdy, durable folding tables in a variety of sizes and for a variety of prices. I have even seen a very creative suggestion including sawhorses and a flat-surface door. Use adjustable sawhorses as the legs of your table. Use the door as the top. For added protection, you can seal the door. The advantage to folding tables, or the sawhorse table, is that they can be taken down and stored under beds or in closets when not in use. When you are purchasing or setting up your craft table keep in mind that certain shapes are easier to work in, a T shape, a U shape, or an L shape. As an example, you could put one long folding table against the wall and put another shorter table or ironing board perpendicular to the end of the table (to make an L shape). Then, you have what you need within close range. You can also purchase desks or craft tables that are already in an L shape. Another idea for ease of use while working, buy a plastic mat made to go under a desk, and an office chair with rollers. You can glide from one end of your craft table to the other! You can use empty wall space and extra closet space to store you craft supplies. Take advantage of empty wall space by hanging shelves or peg board. If you hang hooks on the wall in front of your craft table, you can have the tools you need most often within your reach. In the closet, you can install shelves to hold containers, or you can use clothing rods to hang fabrics. When choosing containers, you should always go clear. It will help you find things easily if you can see what is in the container. Permanent or moveable cabinet units can be put under or next to your craft table for added storage. These are just a few ideas to help you get organized. Whether you have a permanent craft table, or a do-it-yourself craft table, the right organization tactics make all the difference! Ready, Set, Market - What To Do Before You Start Marketing This Year

Wednesday, October 24th, 2007

By Debbie LaChusa Well, the New Year is upon us and that means it’s time for a fresh start. Time to set new goals. Time to get excited about all the possibilities for our business. Time to put the wheels in motion on all our new product and service ideas. And time to get down to the business of marketing our business. So … are you ready? Ready to launch a fresh marketing attack for the new year? Before you rush out and just start marketing, here are 10 steps to take first to ensure your marketing gets you the results you want. Take the time to take these 10 steps now and you’ll reap the rewards all year long. 1) Review your results from last year If you haven’t done so yet, now’s a great time to review last year’s results. Take a look at your financial reports. How does each month measure up against the marketing you did? Look at your most successful months and take note of the marketing you did to generate those sales. Review your marketing tracking reports, too, to determine what worked well and what fell short of delivering the results you wanted. 2) Create a clear vision for your business What kind of success do you want to create with your business this year? How does it compare with your vision for last year? Take last year’s learning and experience and create a new and improved vision for the coming year. 3) Set new goals for the year, based on your vision Once you’ve clarified your vision and the success you want to achieve, write down a few goals that represent your vision. For example, your goals may include launching an ezine, creating and offering new products or services, how big you want your business to become or how and where you want to work. 4) Establish at least one, measurable objective for the year Out of your vision and goals, write down one objective that you can easily measure. Your objective may represent how much revenue you want to generate or how many clients you’d like to have or how many hours per week you want to work. 5) Compare last year’s goals and results, with this year’s goals If you were in business last year, you have a track record for the marketing you did and the results you achieved. Use last year’s track record as a benchmark to help you create this year’s marketing plan. Scale your marketing up or down to help you reach this year’s goals. 6) Ditch, or revamp, the marketing activities that didn’t deliver last year If you tracked your marketing and results, it should be very clear which marketing activities generated the biggest results and which ones fell short. Now’s the time to take a good hard look at those that didn’t deliver and either make them over for 2006, or drop them from your plan. If you didn’t track last year, make a note to do so this year. 7) Beef up the marketing activities that worked well Hopefully at least one thing you did last year worked well. Now’s the time to consider spending more time and energy on this activity to see if you can generate an even greater return. 8) Add new marketing activities to replace those you retire If you’ve chosen to retire a few marketing activities, replace them with something new. Consider other ways you can reach your ideal clients and build these into your new plan. 9) Create your marketing calendar for the year Once you’ve decided what you want to do this year to market your business, map it all out on a 12-month calendar. This will help ensure you’re covered all year long and it will make it easier to manage your marketing tasks. 10) Create a corresponding marketing budget Assign dollar amounts to every marketing activity you have scheduled and create a marketing budget to help you manage your cash flow throughout the year. Now’s the time to make sure you’ve got the budget available to support the marketing you have planned, and if necessary, scale up or back your goals and your plan to fit the budget you have available. Once your plan is done, it’s time to get working on all those activities you have scheduled. If you stay on top of your marketing calendar and activities every month, you’ll find it a lot easier to manage and you’ll start seeing your goals and vision come true as the year progresses. Does Drug Advertising Lead to Unnecesary Presciptions

Sunday, October 21st, 2007

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Craig_Wilcox] Craig Wilcox If you havent seen the prescription drugs ads on television, you must not have a television. Theyre everywhere, and theyre convincing millions of people who may not need medication to “talk to their doctor” about getting fixed up with free samples. The mark of a drug ad seems to be the overt caution they seem to be recommending for anyone using their products. Fill in the blank here: if you have an _________ for more than four hours, please seek immediate medical attention. But these overt warnings are not the most important distinguishing features of the ads. What truly sets them apart is the subtle manipulation they use to make you think you need to take them. Look at the ads for Lipitor, an effective cholesterol lowering drug offered by Pfizer. In their ads, you see a very good looking man getting ready for a swim, or a glamorous woman emerging from a limousine to the flashbulbs of the adoring paparazzi. Youre notified that these are people who have it all. Not only do they take care of themselves and have the adoration of opposite sex well into middle age, but theyre likely also rich and famous. Then, whoops, they belly flop into the pool or trip onto the red carpet in front of all their fans. We learn theyre not perfect after all. They cant dive or walk in high heels, and oh yes, they have high cholesterol. Isnt that just a comical way of introducing a drug? Well, yes, but thats not all that the ad is trying to accomplish. The subtle message here is that even if you were to live the perfect life, you would probably still need their drug to lower your cholesterol. The viewer is left thinking, “Ill never get myself to look that good no matter how hard I exercise and watch my diet, so why should I even try? Isnt it better just to quit trying and take the drug?” This, of course, is the wrong message to send to Americans, who dont need any more excuses to sit around and wait for terrible diseases to succumb to. High levels of low-density cholesterol are a problem. And everyone who has this should be making every effort to get it down. (If your doctor tells you to take statins like Lipitor, take his or her advice straight to the pharmacy counter.) People with a genetic predisposition to overly high cholesterol are the minority, though, not the majority. In fact, a web site sponsored by the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey estimates that familial hypercholesterolemia (genetically high cholesterol) affects only 1 in 500 people: [http://www.umdnj.edu/genesatwork/topics/adult_medicine/10_adult.htm] http://www.umdnj.edu/genesatwork/topics/adult_medicine/10_adult.htm But the simple fact is that cholesterol can almost always be lowered with a combination of exercise and a diet that is lower in saturated fats. The drugs companies do pay lip service to this, but they do so in a way thats almost a throwaway line–”exercise, eat better, yada, yada, yada”–knowing full well that Americans wont be changing those habits anytime soon. (Similarly, cigarette manufacturers know they can run all the anti-smoking ads the government wants them to with very little effect on sales.) There will be people who need to take cholesterol-lowering drugs, and we should be thankful that companies like Pfizer are around to help out in those situations. (The author takes a prescription Pfizer product and would have a much lower quality of life without it.) However, statins are powerful drugs, and powerful drugs often have quite malicious side effects that one might want to avoid. With all statins, there is a danger of permanent nerve damage known as neuropathy. Neuropathy causes pain and tingling in the legs, as well as a loss of sensation, when the nerves stop functioning. Amputations are common with this condition. A study in Sweden showed that two years of statin use raised the risk of developing peripheral neuropathy by 26%. Given that statistic alone, it would be better to emphasize that most people will be able to control their cholesterol through a sensible diet and exercise program. We may never look like the models and actors who supposedly have cholesterol problems, but perhaps we can have better health without drug interventions. Using Purchased Leads

Saturday, October 20th, 2007

By Brian Beshore A little advice about using leads that you purchase from another source; These are not opt-in leads per-say, that you have gathered using lead capture pages. They might join your list, but initially this is a whole different animal. First, some basic advice; 1.) Make sure these leads are fresh, no more then a month old. A week is best. 2.) Make sure your leads come with complete data; First and last names, Home address, Phone number, Date and time of opt-in, Ip address and URL they opt in from. This is PROOF of opt-in. These leads often come on a data spreadsheet and each of the fields has the information described above. In case of complaints, open the spreadsheet the leads came on and search for their Email address or name, by holding down the ctrl and F keys on your keyboard. (Control-F=Search) A search box will open up where you can type in the search criteria. Click search. Copy and paste the results into your reply. 3) Do not attempt to bulk Email, from your desk top, using your Email provider. There are programs that will try to do this, but this is futile, as your ISP sets a limit on how much you can send. You do not want to use your personal Email address or business address for this purpose! Set-up another mail drop for this type of campaign. For every thousand leads you send, about 10% will get bounced back from peoples spam filters. At least 3% will flat-out forget or be un-aware that they signed-up for anything, or thought they were signing up to promote their business , and were not aware that they were giving their E-mail address out for it to be sold. Most people are perfectly cordial about it and simply un-subscribe, if that is their want. As with most all of life, its that 3% who can cause the problems. Many people load purchased leads into their autoresponder account. The only problems with this, is that spamming has become such a virulent political issue, that many servers will just shut you down ifyou get any spam complaints, hence most programs have a one strike and youre out policy.
